Tegenaria domestica

Domestic House Spider

House Spiders come in a wide variety of species

Spiders are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in total species diversity among all other orders of organisms. There are far too many varieties to show here. Spiders are found worldwide on every continent except for Antarctica, and have become established in nearly every habitat with the exception of air and sea colonization. As of 2008, at least 43,678 spider species and 109 families have been recorded. Most common are the Domestic House spider shown above, the American House Spider, a cobweb builder and the Daddy Long leg spider found in gardens around the world.
