silverfish

Extremely Fast and Secretive in Nature

One of the lesser known household insects, silverfish (Lepisma saccharina) are characterized by their flat fish-shaped body. This nocturnal pest is extremely fast and secretive in nature. Silverfish will go unnoticed for long periods of time and thrive in damp and humid environments such as stored garage boxes or in damp basements where carbohydrates and sugars can be found.

These creatures are tough to get rid of with adult silverfish laying up to 20 eggs per day. While non-poisonous, silverfish are best avoided by maintaining a dry living environment. Support from a knowledgeable professional is best for proper eradication as the vast selection of do-it-yourself products available will not work.
